Peggy's favorites for the month are:
The Outlander by Diana Gabaldon
I really enjoyed this book it was rich in characters, the story has lots of historical facts, takes place in Scotland in 1945 after the war, but the main character Claire Randall ends up going between two centuries and living two separate lives, married to a scholar in 1945, and then suddenly she is an"outlander" in 1743 living with a clan who is fighting the English. She finds herself torn between two men in two different time periods. There are seven books in this series The Outlander is the first book.
Little Bee by Chris Cleave
This book is the story of two women. Their lives collide one fataeful day, and one of them has to make a terrible choice, the kind of choice we hope you never have to face. Two years later, they meet again because of their choices they now need to help each other. One woman is from England and the other is a refugee from Nigeria, a country torn by the oil wars and struggle for power. A great read and a twist at the end you won't see coming.
